Betty &Family, thank you for blessing me to get to know you after I met your sisters. My sister Versie was both a promise and a command from our Heavenly Father that we would become family. I cried out to God in preparation for joining the military and leaving my parents and siblings behind going into a world where I really didn't know anybody and I was afriad I would not know family closeness again in life. God said to me "wherever I am there you maybe also. Besides I raised you with siblings so that you could go out into the world and make sister and brothers among them. After that sobbing scared prayer session, Betty Toliver & I met as junior officers in an Army service school and became fast friends and sisters. During our first leave time in Ga, Betty took me to her hometown and later to her Family Reunions where I met my new older sister Versie hosting the reunion in her home. Versie welcomed me and by now some of my young adult children not only to the Reunions but into the hearts of her and the Family. Betty Toliver Carey and Rose Butler Campbell remain sisters of the eternal flames of as Jesus. In the Bible, Jesus asked and answered His own question-"who is my mother, brother and sister except the one who does the will of the Lord. It was God's will that we all become family to each other. Versie met me as a stranger and gave me and my children her home and her love for family; her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and cousins. and additionally my own memories of Versie's face lit up with her smile that reminds me that God's Spirit went before us to bring to fulfillment of His promise that, I would meet my big sister Versie through her younger sister Betty, and get that secure touch of love that turns strangers into families of sisters and brothers. I look forward to seeing her again face to face in our Heavenly home and Family with Jesus. So until we me again Versie, I love you. 🌹Rose
