Monica Lucille Lashley, 54, of Leesburg, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on July 13, 2026.

Born on June 12, 1972, in Albany, Georgia, Monica was the beloved daughter of Charles Lashley and the late Vivian Lashley. She proudly served her country in the United States Army, completing tours of duty in Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her military service reflected the courage, dedication, and strength that defined her life.

Monica had a vibrant personality and found joy in the simple things. She loved spending time fishing and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dog, Carter, and her cherished cats. She was also known as one of Fantasia Barrino’s biggest fans, rarely missing an opportunity to enjoy her favorite artist’s music.

Anyone who knew Monica knew she enjoyed looking her best. She could often be found proudly showing off a fresh haircut from her sister and personal barber, Jennifer Rustin, whose care and love were reflected in every style.

Monica leaves to cherish her memory her father, Charles Lashley; her sister, Jennifer Rustin; her beloved nieces, Kodie Diaz (Danny) and Danni Rustin; her nephew, Greg Rustin, affectionately known as “Little Man”; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Lashley.

Though Monica’s earthly journey has ended, her love for her family, her faithful service to her country, and the joy she brought to those around her will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services are invitation only and information about services can be obtained from her sister, Jennifer Rustin.

    Sending my sincerest condolences & prayers to the family. Lashley was an amazing , caring, and loving person. I served in Iraq with her with the 1148th Trans. Co. & honesty she made most of the days so much better when she came around. She kept a smile on my face and always kept me laughing. She had the kindest spirit and loved to help anyone on need. She will definitely be missed and forever loved. Rest easy soldier. I salute you!!!!🙏🏾💚🤎🙏🏾
