The Young Family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.

Mr. L. J. Young was born May 2, 1922 to the late Minnie and John Young in Oakfield, Georgia. He was educated in the Buckaloo Public School in Oakfield, Georgia. L. J. accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Blue Spring Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia. L. J. was a loving, caring and compassionate man who never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family and friends and would give you the shirt off his back. If any of his friends needed to borrow something, needed a ride or just down on their luck they could just call on him, anytime of the day or night and he would be right there.

He was one of thirteen siblings, all of who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Martha Williams-Young; son: Johnny Lee Young; one daughter-in-law: Annie Young, and one granddaughter: Nicole Miller Boyd. On, Wednesday, February 19, 2020. L.J. transitioned to be with the Lord. Her leaves to cherish his memories six children: Imogene Mitchell of Albany, Georgia, Deloris (Nathaniel) Miller, L.J. Young Jr., Laura (Larry) James, and Otis Young all of Cordele, Georgia; and a host of loving grand children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
