Obituary For Joe Louis Crapp
The Crapp family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.
Mr. Joe Crapp was born in Worth County, Georgia on April 13, 1937 to the late Mr. Jack Crapp and the late Mrs. Lizzie Mae Rabon Hill. Mr. Joe Crapp gave his life to Christ at an early age, and joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester, GA. Joe attended Oak Hill High public school. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960. Mr. Crapp furthered his education by learning a trade in carpentry and brick masonry and plumbing. Mr. Crapp was also employed with Proctor and Gamble for 23 years until he retired in 1999. Mr. Crapp’s favorite hobbies were playing checkers, walking, shopping at the flea markets, spending time with his family and listening to oldies but goldies music. Mr. Crapp transitioned from his earthly home to his eternal rest on August 27, 2020 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Jack Crapp and Mrs. Lizzie Mae Rabon Hill, his grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Rabon, his brother, Johnny Horton, two sisters, Clara Gammage and Mary Boatwright and one great grandson, Jay’Dan Na’King Curry. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 57 years, Mrs. Celia B. Crapp. To this union, Mr. and Mrs. Crapp had four children. Ms. Jennifer Crapp of Sylvester, GA, Ms. Joann Crapp (Jerome) of Sylvester, GA, Mr. Charlie Crapp (Veronica) of Goose Creek, SC and James Crapp of Sylvester, GA. Mr. Joe Crapp was also the father of Ms. Joann Walker (John) of Tifton, GA and Mr. Eddie Bird of Dalton, GA. Mr. Crapp leaves four brothers, Mr. Walton Henry Jr. (Josie) of Sylvester, GA, Mr. Wilie Dye of Sylvester, GA, Arthur Dye (Diane) of Mojave, CA and Billy Henry of Moultrie, GA. Mr. Joe Crapp had 13 grandchildren: Kiwanis Crapp, Wayne Williams, Calvin Williams, Kambria Williams, Kirstern Williams, Kimia Williams, Jamari Williams, Kenzi Williams, Kalia Williams, James Crapp, Jr., Jacole Curry, Nathaniel Curry, and Jamaris Richey. He had six great-grandchildren: Narvez Warren, Khaloni Davis, Braylen Williams, Grace Richey, Zachariah Richey and Jada Moye. Mr. Crapp also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
