The Johnson family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.

Bessie Lee Johnson was born to the union of the late Aaron Lee Jackson and Willie Ruth Smith on March 26, 1948 in Sylvester, Georgia. She graduated from J. W. Holley High School, Class of 1966, Worth County, Georgia. She later graduated with honors from Albany State College with a Bachelors degree in Special Education and pursued post graduate studies toward a Masters in Special Education. Her name could always be found on the dean’s list. She taught Special Education in the public schools of Dougherty and Worth County, GA. She was an avid reader and could often be found with a book in her hand. The larger the book, the more she loved it. She also had a passion for electronics and new technology. She was baptized in Christ at an early age and was united with Brooks Chapel Baptist Church (FAB). She was married to the late Edward Johnson and was blessed with two children, Maurice Develle Johnson (deceased) and Ericka Johnson. Bessie leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Ruth (MaDear); a daughter, Ericka; and grandchildren, Dominique, Jessica, Alexandria, Xavier, and Shakkia; eight sisters, Carolyn (Bobby); Patricia (LeRoyal); Cynthia, Sandra (Charles); Debra (Randy); Sharon (Danny); Azalea (Reginald); Velisha (Willie); Aaron Jr. (Carol); a very devoted friend and soulmate, Arthur; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
