Obituary for Selma Lu Nether

The Nether Family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.

On July 12, 1950, the late Will Marshall, Jr. and the late Willie Bell Holloway Marshall gave birth to a bouncing baby girl to which they names Selma Lue Marshall.

She gave her life to Christ at a very early age and loved her gospel music like no other.

She was preceded in death by her parents Will and Willie Bell, her husband: Calvin Nether, Sr., her sisters: Annie Robinson, Barbara Slade and Stephanie Marshall, her brothers: Robert Marshall and Roy Marshall, her in-laws: Amanda P.N. Fountain, Howard Nether, LaVerne Grooms and Rudolph Nether.

Selma became mother/grandmother to many. Her family was the joy of her life.

She was married to the late Calvin Nether, Sr. In their union three children were born.

Selma leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter: Ms. Regina Olivia Nether; two sons: Reginald Orlando Nether and Calvin Nether Jr.; six brothers: Vincent (Mary) Marshall, Felton (Willa) Marshall, Carlton Marshall, Hiram Downs, Bacchus (Tammy) Down and Eric Young; six sisters: Linda Nell (Roy) Hart, Brenda (Charlie) McMillian, Layconya Fay (Kevin) Tunstall, Wanda (Cleveland) Jackson, Vicky Crapp and SaKinah Young; In-laws: Cheryl F. Smith and Cedric (Deborah) Nether; a devoted granddaughter/daughter: Angelic Santana Howard; cousin/son: Kelvin Smith, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
