Obituary for Lawrence Farrie
The Farrie Family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.
Mr. Lawrence Farrie, the fifth of fifteen children, was born in Worth County, Georgia on August 8, 1945 to George Farrie, Sr and Eugenia Farrie-Henry.
He attended the Worth County School System. Lawrence joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Shingler, Georgia at an early age. As an adult he joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi, Mississippi.
In 1963 he moved to Melbourne, Florida and began his journey at Patrick AFB working in the commissary. In 1965, he transferred to the Civil Service Department. In 1972 he moved to Biloxi, Mississippi with Keesler AFB. He served a total of 36 years with both Air Force bases combined.
In 1973 he met and married Marion Washington, and to this union 3 children were born: Kami Farrie, Shana Farrie and Lawrence Chadrick Farrie. In his free time he loved shooting pool , watching football, and other sports.
On April 10, 2019 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Lawrence completed his journey here on earth.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his father: Mr. George Farrie Sr, three sisters: Carrie Mae Harris, Melva Farrie and Annette Farrie Hooks; and one brother: Evangelist Otis Farrie.
He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving and devoted wife Marion Farrie; his mother,Eugenia Farrie Henry; his children: Kami Farrie(Springfield,Va), Shana Farrie(Biloxi,Ms) and Lawrence Chadrick Farrie(Biloxi,Ms); four sisters: Juanita (Jimmy) Clark(Melbourne,Fl), Betty Davis(Palm Bay,Fl), Luretha Farrie(Sylvester,Ga), and Cynthia (Marcus) Pittman(Sylvester,Ga); six brothers: George (Elizabeth) Farrie, Jr(Melbourne,Fl), Benjamin (Lois) Farrie, Sr(Tifton,Ga), Elder Charlie (Diane) Farrie, Sr(Tifton,Ga), Aldrin (Barbara) Farrie(Tifton,Ga), Lewis (Betty) Farrie (Tifton,Ga) and Marcus (Tracy) Farrie (Sylvester,Ga); Four Sister-in-laws; Ruby Temple(Tuscaloosa,Al), Maggie Gray(Tuscaloosa,Al), Denise(Jimmy)Prowell(Tuscaloosa,Al), Brenda Cannon(Cottondale,Al) Four Brother-in-laws; Edward Washington(Carrollton,Al), Harold Washington(Carrollton,Al), Tilman Washington (Reform,Al) and Clifford Washington(Tuscaloosa,Al) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
