Obituary For J.L. Brown

The Brown Family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.

Mr. JL Brown was born September 17, 1928 in Sylvester, GA to the late Fannie Mae White and Harry Brown, He was his mother’s only child. He was joined in holy matrimony with Hattie Ann (Massey) Brown on September 25, 1950.

Mr. JL, well known as Daddy or Granddad, was a railroad worker in Pennsylvania for many years. He then moved to Sylvester, Georgia and worked as a farmer until his health began to decline. His wife, Hattie Ann Massey Brown; two sons: Mr. Anthony C. Brown and JL Brown Jr. preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his loving memories: devoted daughters: Special one-his care taker, Ms. Linda McCullough of Sylvester, GA, Ms. Patricia Hickman of Pittsburgh, PA, Ms. Evelyn Williams of Albany, GA, Ms. Vivian Brown of Atlanta, Ga, Ms. Priscilla Tellis and Ms. Sarah Brown both of Albany, GA; sons: Mr. Joseph Brown of Albany, GA, Mr. Harry Brown of New Mexico, Robert (Anita) Brown of Sylvester, GA, Mr. Carlton Brown of Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Kelvin (Terri) Brown of Uniontown, PA, Mr. Veando Toomer and Mr. L.C. Tolver, whom he raised; two sisters-in-law: Ms. Lulabelle Brown of Ft. Myers, FL and Ms. Ethel Brown of Indianapolis, IN; Mrs. Sarah (Milton) Alston of Monroeville, PA, Shirley Scott and Yvonne Rose of Rankin, PA; brothers-in-law: Mr. James (Sonja) Massey of Braddock, PA, Mr. Fredrick (Pat) Massey of Murfreesboro, TN; a special friend: Bobby Sindey; a special granddaughter: Tonya McCullough, a great number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
