Obituary For David Monroe,Jr.

The Monroe family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one.

David “Spider” Monroe Jr. was born on August 31, 1948 in

Albany, Georgia to the late David Monroe Sr. and Lettie Harris Monroe. He was the oldest of this Union.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He Joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Kurt Bland. Where he served until his death.

David “Spider” Monroe Jr. was educated in the Dougherty County School system and he was a proud member of THE MONROE HIGH CLASS of 1967. He loved his class members and they Loved him.

David “spider” Monroe Jr was known far and wide. Everybody that knew him loved him. He was never but a phone call away. Whatever he could help you with he was there with a smile on his face. He loved everybody and everybody loved him. That was his passion to love and help who he could. When he wasn’t professional fishing he was helping and socializing like only he could. David Held many Jobs but the best title he held was being papa. He held that well.

On June 22,1968 he Married the Love of his Life Ora D. Moore. From this Union they birthed five Kids. Monica Jefferson, Cornelia Myricks, Tyjanna Monroe, David Monroe and Tekeeclia Monroe and 51 years of marriage was spent together.

On March 27, 2020 the Angels of Heaven looked down among the beautiful garden and saw one particular flower, plucked it and said “Your work down here is over: Job well done. He was Preceded in death by a brother; Bobby Ray Monroe, a sister; Thella Mae Dennis, and two grandkids; Cantrell Bernard Monroe and Mister David Brown.

David “Spider” Monroe Jr leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories his wife, Ora D. Monroe; daughters; Monica Jefferson, Cornelia Myricks, Tyjanna Monroe, Tekeeclia Monroe, and Danielle Anthony; sons; Denzel (Claytia) Anthony, and David Monroe, sister; Thella Mae Dennis, Papa’s grandchildren, Tesherrill (Gerald) Ford, Chantrell Monroe, Iesha Monroe, Ashlee Thrower, Lafaysha Handy, Devon Monroe, Gary Monroe, and Demarquis Beal, Papa’s Great Grands: Kamora Hammonds, Heavenly Thrower, Kajuan Hammonds, Markell Thrower, Braielyn Mcdaniels, Jayce Monroe, Jaysen Monroe, Jordon Monroe, Jersey Williams, Kayden Ross, and Katelynn Ross. He also leaves to mourn a host of sister-in-loves, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
