Obituary For Charles Leon Hill

The Hill Family is sad to announce the passing of a loved one. Mr. Charles Leon Hill was born on September 30, 1964, in Sylvester, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Verdis, Jr. and Irene Rice Hill. He was the youngest of seven children.

At an early age, Charles confessed Christ and joined the First African Baptist Church of Sylvester, Georgia. Later in life, he changed his membership to Jesus Christ Tabernacle of Deliverance in Sylvester, where he served as a member of the Brotherhood Ministry until his health failed and he went to be with the Lord.

Charles received his elementary and secondary education in the Worth County School System. He graduated from Worth County High School in 1982. He went on to attend Albany State College for two years. After two years at Albany State College, he developed skills in culinary arts. At this time he worked in various restaurants and hotels from Georgia to Florida as cook and master chef.

Upon completing his apprenticeship here on earth, Charles graduated to a higher realm of elevation. He made his transition to his eternal resting place on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Lillian Carter Health and Rehabilitation Center in Plains, Georgia.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories, one child: Pierre Hughley of Montgomery, Alabama; five siblings: a devoted sister, Judy (Jimmy) Hall, Jimmy E. Hill, Randy (Debra) V. Hill, Webbie (Pamela) D. Hill all of Sylvester, Georgia and Alvin (Nadine) R. Hill of Tampa, Florida; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

I am very sorry to hear about the death of your loved one, cousin and classmate. Death is never easy, in fact at 1 Corinthians 15:26 death is described as our “enemy.” Yet the bible does offer hope at Revelation 21:4, ‘he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. The former things have passed away.’
